Karina Gallardo

Biography

 

Karina is a professor and Extension specialist with the School of Economic Sciences, Puyallup Research and Extension Center, and and Center for Precision and Automated Agricultural Systems. She is an integral member of the Objective 4: Grapes on the table team, which will tackle the problem of information overloading for consumers in the wine marketplace.

Garrett Steede

Biography

 

Garrett completed his M.S. in Agricultural and Extension Education at Mississippi State University and his Ph.D. in Agricultural Communication & Education at Texas Tech University. As an Assistant Professor in the Department of Agricultural Education, Communication & Marketing at the University of Minnesota, he teaches and conducts research related to visual communication in food and agricultural marketing as well as public opinion. On our VitisGen3 team, Garrett is a member of the Socio-Economic & Marketing research team.

Chengyan Yue

Biography

 

Dr. Yue earned her Ph.D. in Economics in 2006 from Iowa State University and holds the Bachman Endowed Chair in Horticultural Marketing. Her leadership will be invaluable in investigating consumer preferences for disease-resistant cultivars in the context of "information overloading" while making purchasing decisions in a competitive market; and using eye-tracking technology to improve the label design for products from disease-resistant cultivars.
